Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government opened a business workshop ‘Invest in Ajara’ at Radisson Blu hotel today. Meirzhan Maykenov, the head of one of the largest company ‘Kazakh Invest’ and representatives of large Kazakh companies visited Batumi in the frames of the workshop.
Ramaz Bolkvadze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara A.R. talked about the region’s investment potential: ‘428 million Dollar were invested in Ajara, 71% of them belong to the foreign investment. Private investments have increased by 17% compared with the same indicator of 2016. Energy sector (45%), tourism sector (32%) and construction sector (21%) are the leading investment sectors in 2016.
Konstantine Megrelishvili, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara delivered a presentation about region’s investment potential. The forum attendees got information about privatization facilities in Ajara; Regulations for Starting Business in Georgia and main parameters of region’s economy.
Investment opportunities of the resort Goderdzi were also discussed at the workshop. Potential investors were given detailed information about ‘Goderdzi’. The resort is being developed very actively. Privatization process has already started. The forum attendees also were informed about tourism and agriculture potential of Ajara. The sides held B2B meetings, where they discussed future cooperation.
